CHANGES FOR 2017
We like the CSA model of farming because it affords the farmer and consumer a very direct relationship. After carefully listening to customer feedback and reflecting on the past several seasons, we’ve decided to make some exciting changes to our CSA:
One (Share) Size Fits All
This year we will be discontinuing our Full Share size and offering a share we like to think of as “Just Right.” Comparable to previous iterations of our popular Half Share, this “Just Right” share size will be a diverse, well-portioned, rotating taste of seasonal veggie goodness. The share price is $365 for the 20 week season. Each week’s share contents will meet or exceed the share cost ($18.25/wk). We anticipate including 6-8 items per week.
Market-Style Pick-up (Farm Location Only)
Customers picking up at the farm will enjoy more choice with new, market style pick up instead of taking pre-packed share bags as in previous years. Each week there will be several Core Items and a few Preference Items to choose from.
For instance, Core Items one week might be lettuce, snap peas, hakurei turnips, potatoes, and radishes. Customers will take a pre-set amount of each of these Core Items. You will then get to choose from a selection of Preference Items. For instance, “Pick 3 of the following 4 Preference Items: beets, braising greens, chard, arugula.” Core Items and Preference Items will constantly rotate so that customers who don’t like particular items won’t feel “stuck.”
Leave An Item, Take An Item (Both Locations)
To better acknowledge different tastes and lifestyles, we’ll have a Leave an Item, Take an Item box. If there’s an item in your share you know you won’t use or that you just don’t care for, leave it in the box. If you see an item that you love in the box, grab it.
Compost at the Farm
Customers who pick up at the farm will have access to a conveniently located compost bin. Keep your discarded produce and food scraps out of the waste stream and help us make soil!
Member Tour & Potluck
All of our customers will be invited out to take a guided tour of the farm and share in the summer bounty. Date TBA.
